Pancadão - The Culture of Baile Funk
This project is a permanent installation at the Rhythm Discovery Center, a percussion museum in Indianapolis, IN.
I traveled to Brazil early in 2011 to research Baile Funk music. I visited Mr.Catra, the most successful Baile Funk MC in Brazil currently. The images in this piece explore the culture surrounding the neighborhoods where this music style was created, including images from Mr. Catra's studio.
